Hideout's first ToyHauler

Hi all! I'm new to this page, it's a great resource. I currently own a Flagstaff pop-up toyhauler and looking to upgrade to a small TT toyhauler. My local dealer sells Hideout and was down to the local dealer show and put an order in to receive Hideout's new luxury 25TH in the spring. From my research, Hideout isn't a premier brand, but other than that, any thoughts on buying this unit? Should I stay away from a "first-time" model, or will it be modelled using all its sister companies? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Looks like a pretty nice little trailer. I would not be concerned. Nothing new there to Keystone.

Welcome to the forum from Radium Hot Springs BC.
From what you will read on this and other forums it does not seem to matter whether it is a new model or one that has been around for years. Some are trouble free while others are plagued with issues. So enjoy that new toy hauler it looks nice.

I have a Hideout TT. We have used it extensively over almost 3 years. We have been very happy with it. No issues.

One thing I will say though, make sure to do a thorough PDI at the dealership before taking ownership of the unit. Don't just order online and have someone deliver it to you.

Nice lay out in the bedroom . My first toyhualer was 27 ft Fleetwood nitros open concept with no slides .Perfect size for national and state parks . Welcome to the forums.

Just Motocross bikes. Nothing too heavy (a few bicycles and generator too.
I figure it’s a step up from the pop up lol.

Team194, just like Cookin stated, you have to do a good PDI before taking off the lot, after they show you everything, recheck everything, turn on and off everything, look at the tires, see if its been sitting for a while, run the fans, lights, gas items, etc. If you take it off the lot, it will be months before they get you back in for repairs...I have been RVing for 25years, I don't have a keystone anymore, but have had 2 Truck Campers, 1 Trailer, 3 5th wheels, 2 of them being Toyhaulers

Thanks Nevada and Cookin. My best friend owns the garage that does all my local dealer's inspections for all the RVs they order in (and he's a part-time Rv guy in the summer too). I told him to go through it with a fine tooth comb when it comes in lol! I will do the same as well. My real concern is that this floor plan doesn't go into production until January, so I'm hoping the first models rolling off the assembly line won't be full of "bugs" that haven't been worked out. I guess that's another good reason to be thorough on my inspection!

I know I'm not saying anything that everybody else in this forum hasn't already said, but I'm going to say it anyway. When you go to pick up your rig, have a WRITTEN check list and plenty of time on your hands. Also go in with the knowledge that when you leave you're not going to have your rig, only a piece of paper with all the things that the dealership will have to fix. And hopefully when you get back the second time you'll be able to pick it up in perfect condition. I will suggest that when you pick it up on your second trip hopefully, you take it out for a night of boondocking at a actual rv Park so that you can again check and inspect everything and then if it's still not right return it to the dealership. I cannot emphasize having a WRITTEN inspection sheet which you can find all over the Internet with you and utilizing it fully

That's really good advice! Thanks. Especially the point about be prepared to not take the rv home after the inspection. I never thought of it in that way, but if I mentally go to the inspection, assuming I'm Not taking it home, I won't overlook or go easy on some of the small imperfections!

The PDI I found and used online was like 8 pages. Be thorough.

Be sure to bring some basic tools with you as well. I recommend:

Flashlight
Screw driver
IR Thermometer (to check hot water temp, furnace output, AC output, fridge/freezer operation)
Multi Meter
AC Receptacle Tester
Air Pressure Guage
Box of matches if needed to test stove/grill

Don't forget the iPad or camera to video some or all operation sequence of anything you think may not remember later, if you're a newbie it can be overwhelming & you will forget later.
