Tire beeds

I would like to know if anybody has put tire balancing beeds in their tires? If so did you see a difference before and after? I will be making some long trips this year.

I ran them in my dually on my last set of tires. They worked very well and solved some of the balance problems I had. I did not put them in this set. The biggest thing with balancing beads is to make sure you get the valve stem filters. I had a friend who did not and a bead go caught in the stem. The tire leaked down and he couldn't get it to stop. Had to pull the core and clean it out. But then he was stranded without an air compressor. Had to change it out like any other flat until he could get to a gas station to air it up.

BTW, I used dyna beads.

Make sure you read the tire warranty. Most tire manufacturers will not warranty your tires if some sort of balancing substances are inserted into the tire.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if they were a good idea wouldn't GM, Ford or Chrysler put them in from the factory?

I have used them, they do work. Make sure you get the valve stem filters.
You might feel a vibration for about 10 miles on the highway until the bead bag falls apart.
