Battery box locking strap

I've got 2 6v batteries in the normal white box. I'd like to lock it down so the batteries don't walk away. My Google-fu is weak today and I can't seem to find anything.

I know I have seen a flat, metal strap that allows for a lock, but I can't seem to find who sells them.

Does anyone know what I am looking for and where it can be found? I don't like using cables if I can avoid it.

Thanks.

This may be what you're looking for... http://www.statetrailer.com/products...00&detail=true

They also carry one (a different size) for 6 volt battery boxes. I'm not sure which one would fit your box: http://www.statetrailer.com/products...00&detail=true

If neither will work, possibly you could make your own from aluminum stock which you can buy at most any hardware store.

I hear you- I don't trust my 6Vs around anyone, particularly when its in storage.
1.5" flat aluminum- $10 at Princess Auto.
3 pack of keyed alike padlocks $20 at Princess auto (*I use the 3rd lock for the propane hold-down handle).
I bent each bar to shape of the battery box in about 10 minutes. 3 seasons later, no issues.

In a storage yard of 500 or so trailers, I'm confident it's enough to have a thief move on to an easier target (sorry, neighbors). You're right; if they want it they will get it...

Same as being safe from bears in the woods, just take someone with you that you can out run.
