How is hieght measured

I am buying a 2014 Montana High Country 293RK and need to know how the height is measured? Does it include the airconditioners, it has 2.

The brochure says it is 12' 9". but is seems taller with the airconditioner. What is the real answer?

Thanks

The published height is the highest point, it will include the height of the front A/C unit.

For your own piece of mind get out the tape measure. Trust me!

Definitely measure to the top of the front A/C or the highest point. Our 2012 3402RL is listed in the specs as 12 ft 9 inches high, but is measured at 13 ft 4 inches, to the top of the front A/C, which was factory installed.

mine is listed at 12' 8", actual measurement....13' 9". What I've found works best, get a 4' level, find the highest point lay the level across so it overhangs the side and run the tape measure to the ground. By using the level, you know you are getting an accurate measurement.

BTW, the highest point on mine is the front A/C that is standard on this model.

Most accurate would be to lay a 10 foot 2x4 (for example) across the highest point on the front AC, walk over to the edge and measure from the bottom of the 2x4 to the ground on both sides, add the two together and divide by two. Assuming you are parked on a reasonable level spot that is the height of your trailer. Don't be surprised if it is slightly higher than the 13-6 legal limit.

Make sure to measure it hooked up to your truck too. If you don't tow level it could be taller traveling down the highway.

There is some standard pin height that is used to guestimate height. If your truck is taller at the hitch, the guess is off by that amount. Late model trucks add 6-9 inches, 4x4 another 4. That gives you a realistic place to start.
