Distant Drums in Camp Verde

Thinking of making reservations here. Has anyone here stayed there and if so what was your experience?

You don't say what state. If Arizona, we have stayed there several times. Love Sedona/Cottonwood area. If Texas or some other state you have to keep searching. Also you don't say what time of the year. Summers in Arizona can be scorching and some snow in winter. Hope this helps.

Agree with the above. A great area to spend some time. Plenty to do and see in Cottonwood/Jerome/Sedona/Prescott.

We have not stayed at Distant Drums but parked the trailer for a couple months down the road at https://verderiverrvresort.com/

We enjoyed our stay here. We had a nice tree-protected site, the staff was friendly, nice pool, pickleball, game room etc. It's a little more rustic looking than DD and backs up to the Verde river....although it's not much of a 'river' at that point!

It's a very nice park! Owned/operated by the casino, before COVID they ran a shuttle to/from the casino, haven't been since so not sure now. Most casino rv parks we've stayed in are very well maintained & usually cheaper than others especially if you go to the casino & get their players card.

Neat general store and restaurant at Camp Verde. In 1855, the US Army decided that camels were the next big thing and had a camel "ranch" at Camp Verde. Guess that didn't work out.
