Pin box torqueing
Hi guys just got a new Fuzion 310 a few weeks ago and need to lower the pin box on it.
It has a Lippert Model 1116 pin box on it I would like to know what are the torque setting for it so I can make sure I install it back right.
I have looked on Lippert site but do not see any info on it.
Thanks Ron.

I just raised mine and based on the bolt size I torqued to 135 ft. lbs. I hope you have an impact wrench! I was able to get six of the eight bolts loose with a 1/2" breaker bar and lots of mussel, but needed my impact to get the two forward bolts loose.

On a 5th Airborne, the torque required is as follows:
1/2" bolt - 90 ft lbs
5/8" bolt - 150 ft lbs
3/4" bolt - 275 ft lbs
I would imagine that the Lippert torque numbers are similar for their pin boxes.

Yea I have a old air impact hope it still works.
I looked at the bolts and they have 3 lines on the heads so that's a grade 5.
The diameter is 5/8 and is coarse thread.
I found a torque chart but it says 112 lbs so that maybe a little on the light side.

5/8-11 grade 5 = 150 ft lbs

Thanks for the info.
I moved the pin box down because I only had like 5" from the bed rails to the trailer. After I moved it I now have 7" 1/2" but the trailer looks nose high now
Befor it looked level and towed fine just the 5" had me not wanting to hit the top of the bed.
So now I may have to move it back.
Ron.

I have the same problem, darn Dodge 4X4! Sits high in the back, even with my Copper Canyon attached is is just above level, with the hitch and pin at just over 6" to the bed it needs about 2" lift at the wheels to be level.
Looking at having a length of 2" steel tube added at the spring mounts, to lift the trailer, I am leery of lift blocks.

I take it that you do not have any vertical adjustment to your hitch its self? some folks have gone to machine shops and had the bed mounts lifted a bit to accommodate the space required. My hitch has 5 different levels of adjustment by means of 4 large bolts and a bracket. I've got about 4.5 inches of separation and have never hit the bed with the trailer. We do quite a bit of offroad camping at Motocross and GNCC Races where the terrain can be a bit dicey sometimes.

Yea after looking at the 5th wheel hitch I can move it up or down a few inches.
It just looks real close on the bed rail and trailer. I did move the pin box down but the trailer looked nose high.
I moved it back down and now its all good. Just its like 5" off the bed rails.

It doesn't sound like a big difference, but you really want at least 6" between bed and trailer.
As I have a 5th wheel tailgate, I lifted my hitch, and then moved up my pin box. I now have the pin above the gate when I uncouple, I have 6"+ between the bed and trailer, but I need to level the trailer. Looks like I need to lift it the 2".
