House battery question

Hi everyone,
Noob Question: I have an 176LHS and I noticed that in the front I have 4 wires? 2 for the house battery but I have another pair. They are smaller gauge, one red with an inline fuse and one black. Any idea what these do? Thanks everyone

Is your rig “Solar Ready”?...
These wires most likely go to the solar ready plug...

I see what you pictured and that plug is on the front passenger side. The two extra wires are near the front A frame. So these wires would probably be for charging? Thanks again.

Could be for your break away battery to charge. For the brakes.

Break away isn’t fused, and both wires are black.

I'd first ask: Are you the original (first) owner of the trailer? Is this OEM wiring?

The reason I ask, is if you're not the first owner, then someone may have added an inverter or added wiring for some other accessory, and when they traded/sold it, took out that component to use in their new RV....

If you're the first owner, then that's something from the factory, in which case it's probably the "solar ready battery wiring" and somewhere in the front passthrough, you'll find the "other end of those wires" in close proximity to the "other end of the wires from that solar plug"... Those 4 "other ends" are where you'd connect the solar controller/processor to interface your solar panels with the battery/trailer electrical distribution....

OP's Last Activity: 03-17-2020 10:44 AM so I guess it wasn't important or he found his answer.

If they don't plan to post, they don't need to worry about it. I've done this a lot. It's not realistic to assume that just because someone doesn't log in that they are not viewing the board.

It's also "not realistic" to make the assumption that they must have read the information, even though they didn't log onto the forum...…

Point is, we don't know that the OP has read the information AND, as with any "process" if it ain't documented, it didn't happen.... General guideline around this forum is: If the OP didn't log in since his post, he hasn't seen the information. If he has logged in since his last post, the "assumption" is that he's read the responses "up to the time he logged off last time.

Of course, there's always the "what if" or the "well maybe" or the "can't prove it".... I'll leave those to someone who wants to "go out on a limb with assumptions that it could be"... I think we all know, it probably isn't.....

I'd like to believe the OP's issues are resolved and not wonder, but I learned long ago on a "forum far, far away" that many people "take what they want, never contribute and don't care what other people might think"... Is that the situation here? I don't know, hope not, but don't have any information to change anyone's opinion.

Believe what you want, it's a "free society" (except for being "told to stay home, not go to church or to a public meeting or …) Yeah, totally free

O.K., Then I'll just make this statement. IF the OP just went to stealth mode and didn't want to be known but to just lurk after asking for help then I consider that to be rude. It's not realistic to make any supposition other than what's "common practice".

I didn't do that. I was simply saying that one should not assume someone isn't reading the responses simply because they are not logging into the forum.

Not only that, but the responses could benefit others reading the thread - now and in the future.

I guess I'll shut up now - I see no value in getting into a disagreement with Site Team members...

Couldn’t agree more Mark. Besides from a Hansen, it must be right! (As I am one)
