Lightbulb DIY: Adding Bluetooth to the iRV 6500DVD Stereo system

So my 2015 Bullet 310BHS came with the iRV 6500DVD, NOT the 6500BT (with Bluetooth). Crutchfield sells the 6500BT stereo for $300, but there is a simpler way to get Bluetooth on the factory stereo without spending a small fortune.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This small, rechargeable Bluetooth receiver is only $20. It will run for 10 hours, is easy to pair and easy to connect to the back of the factory stereo. We are now enjoying music streaming in our camper. Here's how to do it:

1. Remove the 4 screws that hold the factory stereo in place.

2. Plug the red and white RCA plugs into the AV IN on the back of the receiver.

3. Drill a 5/16" diameter hole in the wooden "ceiling" of the cabinet under the stereo. This hole will allow you to push the other end of the RCA cable (with the 3.5mm connection) through to the cabinet below, where you can plug in the device and have access to turn it on.

4. Re-install the factory stereo.

5. Charge the device for a couple of hours, and then pair it to you phone and enjoy! You just saved $280.00!

Chllaxin, how is the sound quality? As good as any Bluetooth connection?
