most likely you stepped on it and bent it.. that's what happened to mine.. Then I went and bought one at the local HVAC place.. no joy it stuck up too much and caught again..

It requires a very thin register and the only place I could fine one was trekwood RV Supply.. They matched the OEM perfectly... I bought 10 and after replacing the original, and being careful not to plant my 300 pounds in the middle of it I haven't bent another..

My montana was catching on the screw. I replaced with countersunk screws and no more problem. Get a new vent and install with countersunk screws.

hey guys thanks for the reply, i've crunched two more vent that were in perfect shape. I'm not sure what has happened or what changed with the slide but there is zero clearance when it gets closer the floor vent. When it starts to retract there is oodles of room 1/4 - 3/8" as it gets the half way point the slide starts to tilt and loses any clearance it may have had.

I've attached a couple more photos, the membrane is ripped on the floor. By the looks of things it's been chaffing for a while.

Any suggestions it appreciated, i love this place and you guys are awesome!!

Looks just like mine. I used black duct tape to repair the rip, and countersunk screws for the vent. So far so good.

Is your slide electric or hydraulic? It does look too close to the floor when in. It should be adjustable.

its electric... last night i retracted the slide in about 2 feet where it was at it's max hight before it starts to tilt towards the floor, i had and tapped the floor with gorilla tape (love that stuff). Also taped the floor vent down so it was nice and smooth and low profile fit.

Gave it it another go and it snagged again

Our closet dealer is 500km away from us, think i just may bite the bullet and haul it in.

Bummer. Definitely seems it needs adjusting. If you are handy, you can google the maintenence manual for your type of slide and see if it is something you would consider doing yourself. If you have the schwintec in wall slide system, don't even try. This system is non adjustable and requires the slide to be removed so it can be reinstalled plumb and level.
