Touch pad on 333 mks not working

OK we did it, bought our first 5th wheel. its a 2013 333 MKS. It has a touch pad and a remote to do things like move the slides in and out, landing legs up or down and some of the lighting. The problem is at times the touch pad stops working but the remote still works fine. The dealer on the day of the sell put in another touch pad from a different camper and sent us on our way. Well it is still doing it. Keystone told us it is a safety thing and we need to disconnect all power to the trailer. Battery and main power, wait 5 minutes and the everything should be fine. OK works great for a few days but then does it again. I have played with everything in and out on and off up and down for 45 minutes straight without a problem, so I know its not getting to hot or heating up. Went out there today and tried to turn on the lights and guess what? no workie.... But I have learned all I have to do is pull a fuse and put it right back in and everything works fine again....

no workie

Good to know. Not too many 333mks owners on this forum. I am going to pick my 333mks up on Thursday. Will be looking for this issue for sure. BTW, I created a 333MKS group on here!

I remember something about the remote & panel on other Cougars that do not have the same touch panel. When using the remote to turn something off or on, & then you used the panel switch to turn that light, etc. back on or off; that the switch on the panel wouldn't make it work. I may have that backwards but in other words if you used the remote to turn it off, you had to use the remote to turn it back on. My 5ER is not here but I believe there is something in manual describing this issue. Is it possible your issue is similar?

This is what Keystone has told me but I can not get it to happen as they say it should.

So other than that, have you had anmore issues with your 333? We picked up ours and took it out for a weekend. A few minor issues but this week will be our first week long camping on the coast!

Well we did have the bed come off the wall from the slide but a few angle brackets fixed that. The main A/C fan of the roof had the wrong screw in it and was way to long, it would make the hole camper vibrate but I took it out and cut it off shorter and now works great. But there is always a few things that just are not right but in time you can get them fixed the way you like them....

Touchpad

We just had our MKS333 delivered to our site. The tech said the touchpad was very sensitive and if you touched 2 things at once it would lock your system, (fat finger syndrome). Then you had to reset as descibed by disconnecting all power and waiting 5 minutes.

Does anyone know if the slides work on 12V power only. Electric won't be on at the campsite for another week but we wanted to do some set-up.

The slides will work on 12 VDC, however if you don't have backup power to recharge the battery (batteries) in your RV, you'll need to find a way to recharge them. The refrigerator, all lighting and controls to run the furnace and hot water heater also need 12VDC power. So, running the slides in and out will deplete your 12VDC relatively fast. Plan backup power either by recharging from a generator driven battery charger or possibly by connecting the tow vehicle to the RV battery using jumper cables. Don't rely on the 12VDC line in the 7 way connector to recharge a depleted battery, the wire isn't large enough to do much charging, even in 3 or 4 hours of being connected.

Thank you John. The campground ended up turning on the electric so we had no problems.

Mine is giving me problems too. Part of the panel works, like the awning retract but the outside lights don't. Do you pull out a specific fuse or just any one?

New panel fixed it for me

Our panel would lock up on 2 of the rows after 6 - 24+ hours of use. We prepaid a local dealer (the selling dealer is out of state) for a new panel so that they wouldn't have to first have the trailer for days to "diagnose" the issue plus another 10+ to order the part. After swapping out a new panel, we haven't had a single problem. Plus, the lights on the panel are an easier to read red.
