can someone diagnose this?
look at this tire, it is rounded across the tread width. All the others are straight across, anyone have any idea whats going on here. Last one I had do this was an older tire that blew out on me on the hiway, this one is 1 year old?? Any ideas?

Is it the same brand,tire size,and rating as the other? Is it a radial or a bias ply tire?

Probably a China Bomb tire with broken belts, get it off there before it causes you alot of damage and grief.............

yes it's the sames size, age and PSI at the other tires, 23580R16, just wondering if as you say the "ribs" inside are breaking down? It is gonna get replaced soon but I wanted to understand the science of what the thing is doing.

Looks like the belts in the tire are shifting and/or pulling away(debonding) call it whatever as long as you call it all done! New tire time! be safe do it now

Wow that's pretty exaggerated on the shoulders. Looks like out of balance or maybe a bad or loose wheel bearing. I don't think it's a defective tire ( well it is now). What did the previous tire do. If the same then I would ck wheel bearing. If not then prolly balance or even a bad rim. Take it to a tire store and let them say what caused it. If you ever look at most trailer tires... This is pretty common wear.., not saying its normal but what you see on lighter trailers. Ok I'll shut up now. Send the heat for putting in my two cents. Be nice!

Thats is tread separation and the tire is on its way to a blow out. I have seen it and experienced it. I had pictures on webshots of the same thing but they are gone today.
cant explain the science to it but its getting ready to blow out if you tow it long like that.

Almost looks like a biased trailer tire.
Yeah I would take it off and replace. Not worth what little mileage you may get from running it like that.

China Bomb
Get it off quick, just repaired my 2011 Cougar recently. Final bill was $9372. due to a China Bomb with less than 5000 miles that were always maintained by proper air and balanced. It is going to blow.
Is it on the drivers side or passanger? Insurance agent told me road conditions were showing some wear on these bombs breaking down with the weight on the passanger side happening more often. Check aligment of your axles also. Mine were fine but the one being repaired next to it was way off.
Just my thoughts after $500. deductable and a new set of tires. Joe

You can bet theyre coming off but its still a shame, spend north of 50k on a camper and all the tires you find are "china bombs" even the tires that come withhigh recommendations come from the far east and are suspect.

Your tire is in the process of belt/tread separation. Most often caused by under inflation, over loading, speeding or any combination of the three.
