We have a Keystone Cougar 2012 332MKS. In the kitchen the drop tier lights have gone out and we cannot get the bulbs out to change them. We have tried the push up and turn method and the standard twist method. Anyone know how to get the bulbs out?

I have three of them in my Cougar. They are pretty much standard bases like the 1156 and 1157 bulbs that were in cars for many,many years. I discovered that the ones that would not turn to release the bayonets were already turned. Just pulling straight down on them worked.

Our Cougar 279RKS has a dining table chandelier with two 1157 incandescent bulbs. I purchased an LED replacement from our RV dealer, but it says it is for an 1156 bulb. When I installed it, it tripped the fuse. Tried it twice, with the same result. I returned the bulb for a refund.

Does anyone know if the 1156 and 1157 are interchangeable, as far as LED replacements go? It appears not, but I don't know if, perhaps, it was a bad LED bulb. I don't want to sacrifice any more fuses!

The bulbs you need for your chandilere are not 1156. Granted they look similar, in that they have two contacts on the base of the bulb. But there is only one filament in the bulb you need. An 1156 is two contacts and two filaments, both connected to the bulb base as ground. What you need is an 1142. It has two contacts on the bottom, one filament and the bulb base is NOT ground. The bulb completes its electrical circuit through the contacts only. The reason you were blowing fuses is because you were shorting out the light circuit when you installed 1156 bulbs.

Thanks for the help understanding RV bulbs. You should work for our RV dealer Now, can you help me to not bang my head on the dining room light

We are seriously thinking of replacing this lamp with a different style, perhaps a round, glass dome fixture. The stock light is merely decorative, in my opinion. It is not good to eat by as it casts a shadow. I'm not sure who chose the lamp, but not someone who was actually going to eat at the table.

Had same problem with my big head hitting the drop down light. Replaced it this weekend with this model - ITC 39635NI Glitter Ceiling Dome Light - that I got off Amazon. Install was easy and the light seems to give off the same amount as old light - or close enough for my old eyes

Thanks for the info. That is the type of fixture I had in mind. Will get one ordered.

Any tips on installation? Did you outfit it with LED bulbs? If so, what type/size/etc.
