2005 Heater Remote Missing

My 2005 Outback RSS25 doesn’t have a heater remote, and I can’t find a way to turn the heater on. Is there a replacement available, or is there a video showing how to add a wall-mount thermostat? How do I access the furnace to add this?

On older units the furnace/heaters were operated by opening the panel and turning them on/off.
I do not know of any remotes that preform that task. Without a unit controlled heater. I have only seen a wall thermostat control.
Did who ever you purchased the unit from explain how to operate it?

I got it from my son, who bought it from someone else. That person explained that he never used the heater and it only came with a remote. There is no wall unit in this RV.

I'm confused!
I don't think I've ever seen/heard of a rv furnace that has a remote to operate! Typically the furnace is operated by the thermostat on the wall switched to heat & temp adjusted, just like your home.
Are you referring to the fireplace? Some of those did have remotes, not sure about the earlier ones.

I agree. I've had trailers with fireplace remotes but never the furnace. Old analog slide bar thermostats 40 years ago yes. Remotes no. Have you found the furnace?

Here is a link to that trailer. Look at the back wall at the 4:03 mark. That looks like the thermostat on the back wall if you stop it there.

OH! And don't think all Texans talk like that!

Welcome, first what "heater" are referencing? The furnace? The water heater? I can't imagine a remote controlled furnace (or WH) in a hybrid trailer of that year. Have you ran the slide out to expose all of the walls? If not, the t'stat may well be hidden by the slide. If you are talking about a previous owner replacing the unit with a non standard unit then I guess anything is possible.

The furnace. From what I’ve read, 2005s often came with furnaces that are controlled by remote only. The previous owner didn’t have one nor needed the heat.

It appears from my limited reading that Carrier may have put out some RV AC/furnaces controlled by remote only back along that time. Appears they stopped due to unhappy owners best I can tell.

OP have you found your furnace? Is it a Carrier? Attached is a link to a replacement remote for the Carrier units that you may have;

Someone with more experience with that particular model may chime in.

I was trying to remember the brand, worked on an older unit last month that was like that. The controls are in the ceiling assembly and only work by using a remote. I had to troubleshoot no furnace operation
