Max Air Vent will no longer open

The vent on my maxx air fan that came with my 2018 cougar 366rds will not open. The fan works and the motor for the vent opener spins but no longer opens the vent cover. Any suggestions?

Depending on which model you have, try turning the opener knob by hand. One version that I had on a previous trailer, you could pull down on the nob to override the lift motor. You may have accidentally disengaged the power lift mode.

Another possibility would be to examine the mechanism for a missing screw.

All vent lids tend to "stick to the vinyl gasket" that's around the top of the opening. It may be as simple as a "stuck lid" or it could be as serious as a damaged lid lift mechanism from trying to overpower a "stuck lid"....

Pull the screen, remove the fan blade assembly (it probably needs cleaning anyway) and push up gently on the lid while trying to turn the manual knob. Once you get it loose, apply some Aerospace 303 to the vinyl gasket and let it dry thoroughly before closing the lid.

Then, go on to troubleshoot the power lift mechanism for broken parts or stripped gears.

Ours quit working and needed a new motherboard. It was a quick fix do t under warranty.

The original board got wet on mine and it was replaced under warranty. ( I sent photos, they sent replacement. Great company.)
