Does not work towing a 5th wheel with that much pin wheel, as it would be 18,000++++ 5th wheel, which is over it's rating. And that much weight in the bed would put the trucks rear axle over its rating.

I work in the oilfield and ive beaten the snot out of all 3. The only trucks id consider are gm products or fords. Since gm is an option id go that route. We had an 05 dmax that ran over 400k miles. Lots of idling, towing, and having the general crap beat out of it. We had a 6.0 powerstroke that didnt have any issues until around 300k it ran a winter without coolant and lifted a head. All of our dodges were junkyard ready by 200 if not sooner because of everything made by dodge. Ive only ever seen a 6.4psd and a few cummins 6.7s officially blown up. Everything else was fixable or trouble free. That 400k on that dmax though, made me respect it, those were brutal miles.

For what it's worth, I'm on the road all the time as an over the road trucker. I see a lot of hot shot truckers and the majority are using Dodge Ram's followed by Ford's and then Chevys. All diesels of course.

You can find best case and worst case scenarios for all 3 brands. They all pull well. They all have stories of longevity and stories of manufacturing failures. Like most of the equipment we use to enjoy RVing, do your research and buy what suits you best.

My 8 year old diesel RAM with 100k miles runs like new and easily pulls our 5er.
