GE Thermostats

Wife and just bought A 2020 Bullet 243BHS in June and attempted to make our second trip with it this weekend. Had camper plugged up to a 30 amp outlet I installed and we were running the a/c and fridge the day before we were suppose to leave.( Did same for first trip no issues) Left Friday at noon to head to the camp site and arrived around 3. Backed it in, leveled it and hooked power with a Hughes surge protector and everything seemed fine until wife went inside to start the A/C as it was reel feel of 108 at outside. I was hooking up water and sewer when she came around the side of the trailer and said the A/C wouldn’t come on. Went inside and checked breakers and 12v fuses and all were fine. Looked at the digital GE thermostat and there was no display at all. Pulled thermostat off the wall and checked for power and had 12v to it so thermostat is bad. Called a couple RV places close by and none had one in stock so packed up and headed back home. Only good news was KOA manager gave us a full refund which was very unexpected. Has anyone else had this issue of GE thermostat just dying? I went a head and ordered a replacement but am still planning on taking it to the dealer for warranty repair but planning on keeping this as a back up just Incase and if you have a GE thermostat in your camper I would suggest the same.

Sorry to hear about your thermostat failure, But I have to ask are you sure its a GE? Can you post a picture because I havent seen a GE thermostat in a Keystone product.

That's my question and observation as well.

Yes it’s definitely a GE thermo and A/C.

Interesting. All the 2020 Bullets I have seen dont have that brand. Im wondering if the dealer didn't switch it out. Can you go to the dealer and look at another bullet?

All the new ones I have seen in MD, PA and Va when we where looking all had the same ones. Ours was built in February 2020 and it is the mid year model change trailer. I have only ever seen Dometic and Coleman’s in campers so I guess GE is a new player in the RV game. This might explain why no one had one!
$40 dollar part cost us our trip but at least we got the refund.

Just looked up their little notice and it said they expanded their market segments and decided to add RVs in March of 2019. Their first sales to RVs began in January of this year so guess we'll be seeing more of them.

Glad you got the refund. I will have to watch what comes in from the factory. Maybe an East region thing. Thanks for the pic.
