Satellite confusion.

I have a newbie question for you satellite TV folks. We have a regular winegaurd round 18" roof mount dish. We would like HD. From what I understand, only Dish Network offers HD service to the 18" dishes and that the hopper will not work. Does this sound correct and if so do I still have a non Tivo DVR option? thanks!

I know that with Directv you need a slimline 3 multiswitch or single LNB SWM dish for HD. 18" single won't work. Not sure about Dish Network.

You are correct hoppers wont work in this situation, however the dishnetwork 211k is a single tuner hd receiver, works fine with a triple lnb dish from them as well, I put mine on a tripod for mobility since it seems I always camp with no clear line of site, cover 110 and 129 lnb with tin foil, dial in sat 119, take foil off lnb's and run a check switch, fairly simple process. This receiver will also work with dishnetworks tailgator, which will find the signal for you, I cant justify the cost of it however.
