Frame creaking when jacking up

I hear a lot of creaking when I jack up my TT. Is this normal? Rather ask than find out I was harming the frame or axles somehow. ....

Explain "Jacking Up" .... tire change? leveling? raising or lowering for hook up?

When I am hitching/un-hitching my 5er. I get quit a bit of creaking. When you do that, you are transferring thousands of pounds of weight from the hitch to the landing gear. Some flexing of the trailer is going to happen.

My previous trailer did it too.

Unless you see other signs of problems or if it gets worse, just ignore it.

I am on my second fifth wheel. My first one a 2010 Keystone creaked real bad when new and turned out to be loose frame to wall anchors at the upper bedroom. Once I had that fixed it still creaked a little.
My second fifth wheel is a 2013 and it creaks a little and I consider this normal but I watch it very closely for excessive flex when Hitching and driving.

Creaks when raising/lowering the tongue....mostly as a result of leveling. My driveway slopes fown so to level there is higher than normal...and I use a deck post anchor for 5 inches or so of rise along with a Trec plank.

The frame of your trailer, and the attached coachwork, HAS to flex. If it did n't, it would break. if you have ever been on larger boat, the same flexing, accompanied by creaks and groans, occurs. When I pulled a 48ft refer van, you could look in the mirrors and see the sidewalls of the van flex and twist when encountering humps and bumps in the roadway or when entering and leaving driveways. As stated above, as long as the movement isn't damaging the skin of the trailer, you're okay. If, however, you feel the flexing is excessive, have it checked. JMHO

Many of the creaks you hear may be coming from the suspension. The springs and equalizers like to complain a lot. You have to be the one to decide if it is just complaining or crying for help. Mine even creaks a little when I go up the steps ..... not that I blame it.
