New 330RBK questions?

Just had our first weekend in the new trailer. So far so good. Did want to know if anyone knows if a larger water heater will fit, the 6 gallon it has is just not enough for a bunkhouse. Second is how do I get a decient amount of water to come out of the shower head. Hard to take a shower when the water just barely comes out of the head.

You might want to remove the shower head and check for debris that may have been "left over" during the plumbing installation. Have a look at the fine mesh filter. I'm not sure about resizing your HW tank. In our unit, there seems to be sufficient room to install a larger capacity tank. It's not that tight a squeeze.

Most RV shower heads have a volume control, was it on all the way?

If you already have the install/owners sheet for the water heater in the pile of paper work and manuals you got with the trailer, the cut-out requirement info should be there for you. If you do not have the sheet, go to the manufacturer's website where you will find installation instructions for water heaters. On the instruction sheet, they list the cut-out requirements for each.

Obviously you will have to take some measurements on your trailer to know the answer for sure.

Shower flow is also dependent on decent pressure. 35-40 psi is ideal. Debris in the screen filters or in the shower head itself can restrict flow. And some folks have had great experiences by swapping out the standard RV head for a commercial head. The plumbing fittings for shower heads and hose are all the same for RV's and regular residential stuff.

jrfx4, Are you using your water heater on propane and electric at the same time???? If not, try that before replacing with a larger one. Even with a ten gallon the recovery rate on electric only is not fast enough for multiple showers. We changed our shower head to an Oxygenics (spell?) and it was a big improvement. Enjoy and travel safely, Hank

A 10 gal will not fit in a 6 gal hole. You will need to enlarge the hole in the outside of the trailer. If you need a lot of extra hot, you can go to a propane instant heat but get your check book out.

A 10 gal DSI will set you back $600+ the install work. IF there is room.

If you only camp with hookups, you can plumb in a small 5-10 gal 120vac under counter heater in the storage compartments for a option. IF the access to the output from the LP heater is reachable.

Perhaps run a separate 120vac ckt so you can plug it directly into the pedestal, since your 30A service will not support the extra load.
