Replace awning motor to manual

After two motors in two years, I'd like to replace the 12volt motor with a manual. Anyone have experience in the change out and about how much it may cost.

I don't know of any conversion kit to retrofit an electric awning to manual operation.

That said, all of the "true manual awnings" have significantly different awning arms as well as awning roller. Side arms on manual awnings are not "articulated" but rather extend from the base of the RV to the awning top. I'm not sure how you'd retrofit a "spring assisted manual awning" to work properly with the articulated arms of an electric awning.

I gave done the manual to electric lots of times, but not the other way around. As John said, it would require new arms, and roller tube. I suppose you could get new arms that would mount in same spot and MAYBE use the same mounting holes. Otherwise you would have to seal up the holes.

What brand awning do you have and where are you getting the motors?
