How do you open the kitchen roof vent? I cannot find a switch anywhere!

Hi... we're at a bit of a loss to answer your question without knowing what your rig is. Filling out the User CP/Signature area will help tons. Thanks.

I can't see word one about fans in the brochure, floorplan, or details. Have you looked at the menus on your inCommand? If not, look for a wireless remote controller.

A picture would help. Are you talking about a standard 14" ceiling vent with a screen? Or is it a ceiling vent with a fan? There are manually openening vents that typically have a black knob on one side and there are some electrically operated vents that open outomatically when you turn the fan on.

From the 3-D walk-through on Keystone's site, it's a Fantastic Fan with the usual triangular opening knob, but it's about 8 feet off the floor, so I'm not sure if they would expect people to be able to reach that manually.

Year? If you go to the top of the page and click on "UserCP" you can add a signature. If you put the make, model and year of your trailer and truck it will eliminate the "guessing game" and questions when youp9st a question.

Yes - it is the kitchen vent that has a small black knob, but at 5'3", there is no way I can reach it, even on a stool. Surely there has to be another way to open the cover and turn it on. Our Heartland had a switch on the wall to open the vent and another for the fan.

I looked on the In Command system, but found nothing, and as one poster said, there is nothing in the manuals.

You can buy a kit that comes with a new knob and a stick with a hook that fits in the knob and turns it.

Thanks! But really, what a ridiculous setup! I'm using the stovetop and have to go find a stick and crank the vent open?

You can get it upgraded to an eleftric operated vent. I don’t know the year so I don't know if you bought this new or used but in either case this should have evident at the time of sale.

Cynthia, can we assume that the vent fan on your oven/microwave is inadequate?

Ok - figured it out. It is in the In-Command system box. Again, not as handy as a switch, but at least we can now make it work.

It is nice to be able to use that to take heat out of the camper, as well as for cooking. The microwave vent goes into the garage, so not always where you want to smell to go!

Thanks for all the assistance. While we are not new to camping, we are new to Keystone so I'm sure there will be more questions coming!

I am sure that whoever vented your microwave into the garage and was the senior design engineer. Never question the logic of the senior design engineer!

I see two green lights in the corner of your unit----,must have a remote controller ---check with who you bought the rig from is my best guess now.

Could be a handheld remote control. Can’t see picture well enough to guess at fan type. Most with fans that high have an on/off open/close remote control. You correct, operating a vent or fan that high from a chair, step or ladder can be dangerous
If it is a used trailer remote may be missing or dealer forgot to include it.

I have a Cougar with an unreachable max air fan also. My fan control on the "In Command" is on the same screen as my front AC. I have to go to the HVAC screen and then scroll over to the front AC. It has open/close and low/med/high/off selections.
