Here are a few more pics of the parts I designed.

Gypsies, tramps & thieves! with exception a vast majority (in my opinion) of large rv outlets are staffed by those who couldn't make it in the used car business!

That's a bit harsh. I've often found them quite helpful and glad to have them available. Some of them even hang out here with many new campers benefiting from their advice.

Both of my kids got their fingers pinched in the screen door on our first outing, holding onto the door jamb to reach out for the handle. I made a new handle out of some nylon strap, vinyl hose, and some short self-drilling/tapping screws. This one should be easier for them to reach. Hopefully they don't punch through the screen in the process...

So this trailer was advertised as back-up camera ready. I climbed up on a ladder to see what brand of camera was compatible with the bracket that came attached from the factory. Seeing no branding, I took the bracket off. Apparently back-up camera ready means they cut a hole in the siding and screwed on a mystery mount (stripping the mounting screw holes in the process). There's no wiring ran to the bracket either. What a crock...

You guys who were concerned about my low spare tire mounting will be glad to know that I raised it up with some homemade bars made from some scrap angle iron. Two short lengths of foam pipe insulation cushion between the siding and the angle iron since it fits up tight against the back wall of the TT. With the angle iron pieces that tie the 'bumper' back to the frame, I am confident that this will ride well without tearing the bumper off.
Note I got a pretty lousy campsite at the state park as shown in this picture. My leveling blocks on the right side kept sinking due to water-logged ground. So I dug a shallow hole on the left side and dropped the TT tire in there. Filled in the hole and carefully replaced the sod upon leaving. Left as little trace as possible.

The fridge came without any way to latch it closed during travel. A quick design and 3D printing to the rescue! The pin in the latch engages the plugged hinge hole on the top of the door. It is very secure. The upper half captures the trim above the fridge and is attached with two #8 flat head wood screws.

That is a bracket for a Furrion camera. However, other brand cameras have adapters for that bracket I installed a Haloview camera). The wires could be tucked back into the wall, mine were.
Note: when you install a camera, you will most likely need to turn your TV lights to fully on to get power to the camera.

There is a stud behind the hole leaving about a 1/8" gap through which to find wires, assuming they exist. I decided to stick the empty bracket back up for now. If/when I decide to spend $400+ on a camera, I'll see if there's a wire in there or just run my own to the clearance light.

The wires most likely come from the clearance light right above it. When you remove that, they maybe easier to find. Mine also had a stud right in the middle.

No wires is better than toasted wires...
Which is what I found behind my center marker light. It was fairly simple to cut that all out and fish the supplied power cable supplied by Haloview.

Nice. I wonder if part of the RVIA certification is to fish power wires through a jagged hole with razor sharp edges.

Makes me wonder what this little sticker stands for. Maybe I will peel mine off since it doesn't seem to apply.

I wouldn't remove it if I were you... If you attempt to sell it, many banks require that RVIA sticker to finance it, so you'll be limiting your sale to "cash only" if the prospective buyer is trying to finance with a bank or credit union that requires an RVIA certification as part of the collateral being financed.... Some do, some don't...

It's an honest statement!
ALL rvs "comply" with the "standards" set by the "rv industry", they may not meet YOUR standards, or mine, but that's not what it certifies.

Yours might, but I am not so sure about mine. Although one cannot see the RVIA standards without being a RVIA member, I'm pretty sure that installing power cable butt splices that fall off in your hand or all by themselves in hidden locations would violate said standards. I've found four so far. I would also guess that dangling the water heater circuit board from its own wires using a single loose zip tie, outside of the enclosure provided with it, would not be up to spec either.
I see this sticker to have more of a meaning like the official-looking certificate of authenticity that comes with a set of valueless commemorative coins.

Alright, back to business... One of the strap clips on my towing mirrors got brittle and snapped Memorial Day Weekend. I designed some slightly beefier ones and 3D printed replacements.

Just an update. We've done three trips and covered the better part of 2500 miles with this TT now. Everything worked perfectly and I'm glad I took the extensive time to make everything right. All of my 3d printed widgets held up very well!

I'm suddenly wanting a 3d printer. That thing sounds awesome.
