To supply some context, make a signature with camper year and model and same for your tow vehicle (in case there are truck questions). Next, lean to attach and image. Go to the "manage attachment" tab below this dialog box and a picture is worth a 1000 words. Not sure what grab handle you refer to so can't provide any info. Sorry.

Hello, Mkstew - Welcome to the forum!

Most exterior handles should have screws, accessible via holes in the handle itself which mount the handle to the exterior of the RV. Are you able to get a screw driver on these and tighten them?

It's a 2019 Keystone Springdale travel trailer. We tow with a 2017 Texas edition Chevy Silverado. How do I add a picture?

No screws are visible. It is on the exterior side on the left of the door.

There are lots of models of Springdales. I just picked one out in the link below. Look at the 8:50 mark or so. Is that the kind of handle you have? If so look on the upper and lower ends for little what look like "boxes". You pry those open and the mounting screw is under it.

Thank you everyone. Yes, that's the model we have. I will try to pry the boxes off.

Pry the end of the box toward the center of the handle vs the end toward the outside of the handle. The tip of the blade on a small (Squirt ) Leatherman works nicely.

They will be Phillips head, be careful tightening them. If they are stripped out use bamboo skewers to hold the screw tight again.

And for me () I carry TWO sizes of bamboo skewers; some for little things and the larger ones for....larger things!

I just use 2 if needed.

^^^^!!! In today's world everyone thinks they need a driver of some kind to install screws of every kind and description. When I "grew" up there was no such thing and my job required "screwing" in hundreds of screws, lag bolts etc a day - by hand. Paying attention, you could always feel it getting to the max point or then, it stripped. You can do the same with any driver you are using BUT...you have to pay attention. If not that tension point where it is telling you "this is it" is lost and poof! you just stripped it. Elementary? To me it is. Judging by all the work we see from the "techs" that build our RVs, and the techs I have had working on my various RVs, it is an unknown art; hit the screw/nut/bolt with the driver set at max, when it bottoms out....spinning, stripped etc.....all is good - "I did a good job"; then the part falls off when they walk out the door. Pay attention to the "tension" is all I can say - and forget that driver for the final tightening if you don't know how to "feel" it.

Did you run across the scales after adding that weight?
