Exterior Flood Lights Inop

I've got a minor problem with the exterior flood lights on my 2007 Outback - they don't work. Both went out at the same time, so I'm thinking maybe one of the fuses in blown. Does anybody know which fuse those lights are on? If not, I can check the continuity of each one. Does anybody have or know where I can get a wiring diagram for this trailer?

Your outside lights are 12 volt DC (battery operated). First check your on-board converter...you know...that compartment that has the breakers. Check the automotive fuses. On some converters, when a fuse is blown, a red light beside the fuse comes on. If yours does not have the red light indicators, then pull them and double check that none are blown. I'd start my tracing there.

As already mentioned, your light circuit will be on a 12 volt fuse inside your factory fuse panel. If yours doesn't have tell tale lights, the quickest way to check is with a test light or multi-meter. Clip on to ground and touch probe to each side of bayonet fuses. This can be done with the fuses in place. If you look at the plastic part of the fuse, there are small slots on each end. Check both ends for 12v.

Another thing to check is that your lights are mounted with the lens drain holes down. On more than one occasion I've seen water sloshing around in peoples "scare lights". It is just a matter of time before they short out.

Good Luck,
