Keystone Cougar ElectrGreystone Fireplace won't shut off

Hello ,anybody have trouble with a Greystone Electric Fireplace not shutting off.Model F2609E. I believe the thermocouple on the side of the unit is not placed properly for room temperature. With the unit on my workbench,I can cycle the heat off with a blow dryer.
Why does the heat turn off when shutting off the lighted flames ? Is this normal ?
This is for a Keystone Cougar 2013 model. There is no customer support for this heater.Any help appreciated.

I have the opposite problem, the heater shuts off early. I have not found any service info or replacement parts.

I have one, not sure of the model number. Replaced right away due to the remote not working. Has worked fine since, except the remote has to be pointed directly at it for it to work. Never noticed the heat turning off when turning the flames off. Use it all the time for heat as the furnace is obnoxious.

Yes it's tough to find technical info on this model. The company that sells them is the InterGlobal Co. out of Indiana.I am calling them today to see if they can provide any parts or schematics.I'm guessing I need a new control board.

Parts for Greystone Furnace

You can get parts for a Greystone Fireplace, such as a new control board at Way InterGlobal Network,LLC .Number is 574-971-4491.I called and they have them in stock for $24.90.The main circuit board was $20.00.
Before ordering though,I would like to find what the actual problem is with the lighted flame switch .I will post some results if I find anything .Looking for a schematic for this model.Probaly somewhere in China.

Although it's not "exactly the same model" you can find a wiring diagram for a similar fireplace in the manual found at this link. As simple as the controls and wiring are, it would be very easy to follow this schematic and identify/repair your Greystone Model 2609

Parts info

An update on ordering from Way InterGlobal..They didn't have the control board for my older unit.No technical help either. There basically just a distributor. They only had parts for there latest models.
So I still can't turn the lighted flame off without turning off the heat at the same time.I am going to add a switch to manually turn off lights.
I moved the thermocouple to the front panel next to power switch.I set the dial to about 70 degrees.I placed a thermometer(Fluke meter with temp probe) next to the units thermocouple. The temperature had to get to 77 -78 degrees before it would cycle off .Im chalking this one up to a inferior design and I'm just going to have deal with it.A detailed schematic sure would be handy.Cant get parts or a schematic..Dead end.

Greystone Fireplace not turning off

Hey all,

When we turn on the Greystone fireplace it works great, nice and warm in the rig. When it is time to turn it off and go to bed, the light stays on, we tried using the remote and pushing buttons on the fireplace unit. Only thing that works is to unplug it. That is a real hassle, the plug is buried in a cabinet.

Any suggestions. model number is wf2613r-2

1. Wire an accessible switch to the cord or to the plug.

2. Identify the circuit breaker that plug is on and use the circuit breaker to disable the plug.

3. If it's still in warranty, let the dealership handle it.

4. In all probability, you won't find replacement parts, so live with it or buy a replacement to install.
