Hi Tribal,

I'm not sure how "central" you are looking for. The Dayton Talltimbers KOA is very nice, a little tight on roads and a little expensive, but very nice. Mohican State park is good, so is Whispering Hills Rv Park, it's also near Mohican in Amish country. Have also stayed at Top O'Caves near Hocking Hills. As long as you don't use their facilities (shower houses, bath rooms etc) it's a nice campground. We drove thru the KOA in Hocking Hills, it looks very nice also, no idea of price.

tribalsimba, Howdy;

If you are looking for Drycamping in the Southeast section;

http://www.aep.com/environmental/recreation/

Within the link is the area called ReCreation Lands. Near Mc Connelsville, Oh. They have been reclaimed
after stripmineing coal. The links within the link will get you a FREE permit
(required). No reservations... First come first served. There is NO cost to camp there. Some of the best fishing in the State in those ponds.
Near by is The Wilds, (just West of Cumberland, Oh. between St. Rt's. 340, 284, & 146), Jungle Jack Hanna's own reserve for exotic animals. Also on land donated by the power co.
Check it out on Google Earth.

and if you would like any more info on AEP's ReCreation land, just drop me a note - since I work for the company, I can probably get you anything you'd want to know about it.
