Cracked Edging
Cougar 21SBRWE TT
Discovered today that the black edging on the front is cracked in some places and I have 1 place where the trim is missing. This is a hard edging so how do I repair ?

This is one situation where a picture is worth a thousand words. Please post a photo of what "black edging" you're talking about. I'm sure with that information, you'll get a number of recommendations.
Oh, and welcome to the forum

That black rubber insert trim is about $20 per 100 foot at Camping World but there might be various widths so need to verify that. I replaced a section that "shrunk" in the cold weather, seems to expand and contract with the temp some. A couple of screws at each end with a dab of caulking over the to seal it down.

It's called vinyl insert trim. It comes in a roll, 25', 50' or 100'. Available at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/RV-Designer-E.../dp/B003YJI06K
It's available in 3/4" and 1" widths, so measure before you order.
Alternatively, it's available at any RV parts store, so if you have a dealer nearby (any brand trailer, they all use the same trim) you can pick it up locally.

Sometimes you have to trust that people know what they're talking about. Go to your local RV dealership and ask for a roll of vinyl insert and you'll get the correct item. If you've ever left anything made of "soft and pliable vinyl" out in the sun for 4 years, it was "hard and cracked" when you tried to pick it up. So goes the "soft pliable trim" on your RV 4 years after it was installed.

I totally get what what you are saying and I say thanks to all the replies but I think this is hail damage and this stuff was always hard. It may turn out to rip it out and replace with the suggested pliable white stuff.
Thanks to all

When you figure it out and know the answer, come back and post what it was so we can all learn.

I replaced the trim on my last 5th wheel with a replacement strip and you can replace it pretty cheap and easy to install.

How ever it happened ? does it matter. It cracks with age or impact, shrinks and expands with temps every year. Cut a piece out take to RV store to get the right size buy white or black your choice take a few minutes and replace the piece. Or measure it yourself and buy through the web. I have replaced some
on or all of the stuff on several RVs I owed and 2 truck canopies. If you just remove it and not replace it that is OK too, just looks unfinished. Without it you may get water in around the screw heads at some point.
