Roof Maintenance

Does anyone use a pressure washer to clean their RV roof? I'm thinking if I use it at a low pressure and don't get it to close to the surface and am careful around the seams that it would work quite well. Yes or no?

Thanks!

I tried it and found that unless I "do get close" it won't eliminate the brush and scrubbing. So, why drag the hose and nozzle up onto the roof, spray with soap, then crawl down, turn off the pressure washer and climb back up onto the roof to scrub? Just take the bucket, soapy water and scrub brush the first time and save the power washer for the sidewalls and awnings.

If you do use a power washer on the roof, be very careful about overspray getting into the refrigerator vent and separating the DICOR sealant from the TPO roofing..... Don't ask me how I know

Even when washing a car/truck, no amount of pressure can do the same job as a little elbow-grease.

I have found the power washer is great for spraying the soap on (special low-pressure nozzle and suck a liquid soap bottle through a hose) and rinsing everything off.

For actual washing though, a rag or brush will not only get the job done, but get the job done faster.
