Try running the microwave on low power.

Most digital clocks in microwaves are frequency based. North America is on a 60 cycle frequency, it keeps time based on that, if the frequency of the AC increases, the clock will run faster, and if the frequency decreases, it will run slower. Are you on "shore power" or "generator power" ? Depending on the input frequency, the microwave clock will either be accurate (60 Hz), fast (>60Hz) or slow (<60Hz). I would "not be concerned" at this point, it may be the campground power supply. Check it again on a different power source when you get home to see if it's keeping correct time. If it is, then it's the campground, if it still gains time, then you probably have a defective clock. I don't know what the warranty time frame is for your microwave, it may be in warranty, if not, you can buy a replacement for usually less than $100.

Other than the usual clock settings for time and timer, I don't think that there is anything you can do to slow it down.

On a more positive note, if you go by the microwave clock then you'll be early for all of your appointments.

You might need to bring along a small clock. Not much you can do. No sense changing out the microwave if it works.

Frequency is the first thing that came to my mind. When I was stationed in England we used to use power converters to reduce to 120v. One of the first lessons people learn is you can run most appliances, but your clock will lose 10 mins an hour.. 50 vs 60 cycles on the frequency. I would suspect something with the power you're connected to

Who needs a clock when you're on camping time
Btw unplugging it and reseting everything should bring it back to normal

So now my popcorn takes 2 minutes and 45 seconds rather than two and a half minutes?

When I'm camping I don't care what time it is and if I really want to know, I have a cell phone in my pocket. Whatever it says is close enough for what I do.

How much too fast is it running? My guess would be you lost power between settings. It's unlikely that a clock would be off enough over the course of a day to notice any significant variation.

I never did remember to check on this at home but it never worked when we were camping. Had the dealer check this out and they say the microwave is fine when hooked to their regulated electric. It must just be vertu sensitive to unregulated sources.
