You might want to check "one more time"...............
Well, I'll be... I actually can't check right now, it's off at a campsite. My daughter is doing the shakedown trip. As a graduation present, I am allowing her and a couple of her close friends to spend a few days camping in it at a campground about a half hour away. Close enough for me to help them out if needed, but far enough away so she feels independent. (I towed it there for her, and will pick it up on Friday)

That was me....and yes....it was actually behind a metal spec sheet which was riveted onto water heater. Switch was behind that sheet....made total sense.

I looked and looked, saw the picture that was posted with the switch tucked way back, and I don't have such a beast. Otherwise, my unit looks identical. My daughter told me that at some point later that night, they had hot water, so I'm guessing it's only the inside switch that turns it on.

By the way Stephen, hello, from a former Michigander. I was born and raised right up the road from you, in Spring Lake. Moved out west about 10 years ago.
