Hello Ashville N.C.

Looking to spend some time there this summer (kayaking, biking ) can u suggest nice rv campgrounds? Looked at Mama Gerties campground , it sounds nice and looks clean but also booked tight . We pull a Keystone 19' Hideout. Thanks for your assistance .

Depends on exactly where you want to be. Check out Campfire Lodgings and Bear Creek. I have stayed at both and they are decent.

When in the Ashville area we spent a week at Mamma Gerties a Good Sam Park. Very nice site carved into a steep hill side. Close to the highway exit then a short narrow road to the site entrance. We were on the first plateau and at that time they were expanding cutting another plateau further up the hill side. Nice size sites. If you are used to flat camp grounds this will definitely be different. Since it is in the sticks nice walking trails through the woods. Quiet, clean, and very friendly camp site personnel. Would definitely stay there again.

Looked at Bear Creek if I recall had a pool, flat, with two major highways close by. Highways looked too close by for us.

Davidson River in Pisgah NF is great and right on the river, its close to Brevard about 45 minutes from Asheville. Powhatan CG is closer to Asheville about 20 minutes to downtown . Both have hot showers, dump station.
