Insulation or lack of

I have a 2013 321RES Cougar High Country.
I was wondering after I had taken down a bedroom ceiling light fixture to repair it. The access hole for the wiring was fairly large and looking inside all I could see was a black empty space. Shouldn't I have seen some type of insulation?

One would think that insulation would be found. Have you removed and checked other roof cavity areas? From the research I have done such as posts in this and other owner forums, the placement of insulation is inconsistent at best in ceiling, sub floor/belly and cap areas leaving many voids and unprotected. I can assure that if the workers building them had to live in them, more time would be spent in this area. Just another example of workers being paid by piecemeal assembly quotas versus quality.
