Winegard Gateway

Does anyone have experience installing the Winegard Gateway? I have a 2021 Hideout wit a pre-installed Air 360. I followed the instructions and installed the gateway but I am not getting power.
Thanks!

You have to run the power to the unit.

I have a 2021 Cougar 26RBS and installed the gateway in the prepped location. I found two wires passing thru at the location that were also running to a light that has a switch on it... So the positive wire is always hot... I had to "tap" into them and connect the supplied pigtail with the plug in adapter on the end. You have to properly identify the "hot" positive 12v side with a meter... That went to the red wire of the pigtail. If they are switched, the unit will not come on. That and plug in the antenna wires, and all went well...

Can you send the pic to the 'prewire wiring?'...normally there should be a green and white "lamp cord" power wire. Which is used for "12 VDC Interior Lights". I would hope they gave you an unswitched wire. Anyways the green is + and the white is -

My pair of wires are always hot... The light they ran to has a built in switch... I clarified my original reply... :-)

The Air 360 is installed on the roof and the "bubble" was on the ceiling. I pulled the wire loop and the three colored wires with connecters down. I cut the loop of wire (12 volt "lamp cord"). I powered everything down first and everything works; so no blown fuses? I don't have a volt meter with me. I followed the wiring diagram and a YouTube video. The wires are white with a red stripe and solid white in the lamp cord pair. I attached the red stripe to the red pigtail wire and the solid white to the black pigtail wire. I checked all my light switches and that still didn't light up the LED on the gateway. Guess I'm off to the hardware store for a volt meter?

Voltmeter is great to have in your RV tool arsenal.... :-)

Keystone doesn't always follow their color standards I have found. Mine was reversed from conventional logic also.

It depends on the location as to color of wire... Mine is white with pink stripe and all white. Which according to Keystone chart is the accessory wire for the kitchen slide.

I think until you get a voltmeter you will struggle. If the factory provided the power wires accessible from the mounting location then you should be able to figure out which wire is hot. Easy Peasy from there.

When I connected to mine, I split the two wires apart so that I could simply use wire taps and not cut the power wires.
When you cut and connected the power wires and the gateway, did you connect them so that each connection had three wires? If you only connected two, then you may have picked the wrong side of the circuit.

If I'm reading the chart right, the accessory wire for the kitchen slide will have "3" repeatedly printed on the pink. The furnace is "2", and everything else is either unmarked or "1" (which appears to many people to be a "dotted line").

That's correct

I would have done the same as you. I'd get the volt meter. Here is the latest "universal wiring" from keystone and I can't file a red/white combo - LINK.

However an older one says that color combo is a sending signal wire - LINK

Just going from (faulty) memory, but I believe my wire was white with green. As I noted, I used wire taps then checked for voltage and polarity before connecting to the gateway.
