Thanks. I'll be doing a deep dive into this.

We went the sat route for a couple years. Someone mentioned Dish customer service? NG. We had cut the cable at home and were just streaming and happy with that so now we use that when on the road.
This past year we switched to Visible for the unlimited data and even bought another phone for $50 to dedicate to Hotspot. Bought a small router on Amazon for $30 because the mobile hotspot is only available on one device at a time.
Fast forward, got home this spring and decided to try this setup at home and not turn on Spectrum internet. It's working great.
End result: 3 phones, $75/mo. vs. $200+, also eliminated Spectrum at $80/mo.
We use Direct TV Stream, Netflix, and Hulu and Acorn, total ab$100 and we get everything we could want.
Highly recommend Visible.

BTW, we have two Wally's and a Tailgater I'd like to sell.

The visible service by verizon appears to be limited to 5mps on avg. Is that fast enough to run streaming on the tv? i wouldnt think so. I already have verizon unlimited 4G and tried using as hotspot last year in Galveston. It was still kinda slow hence reason why wife and I have been contemplating going to satellite but not sure after reading all the comments. Dunno..thinking about just trying the hotspot on my phone again but this time using a firestick. Trying to make a decision this wknd before we head to Galveston next week. Thoughts?

You might consider lowering your resolution on the TV/firestick. On a 26" or 32" TV and even on most 40" receivers, HD resolution isn't that much improvement over lower quality resolution. You can save a bunch of bandwidth and probably reduce lag/buffering significantly by setting resolution to a lower (but still acceptable) setting....

We use the Visible service. We stream just fine. The only limitations is that it will not stream in UHD, 4K etc. It's not really noticeable vs our ultra 4k at home. I mean that it isn't quite as sharp and crisp as the home tv but we don't really care when in the camper.

I would suggest trying to stream whatever you want to watch on your phone. If it streams ok then try to mirror or cast the phone to the TV if it's a smart phone. If the TV isn't a smart phone then you should be able to cast it to a firestick or a chromecast device. With most phones you can also connect directly to the TV via the phone'data port. You need to buy an adapter that plugs into the phone on one end and has an HDMI plug on the other end.

Using any of the methods I described does not require using the phone as a hot spot. Most plans restrict the amount of data used as a hotspot and you will be charged extra. Even the "unlimited data" plans only refer to the data used by the phone only and restrict the hotspot mode. Read your plan carefully. Our phones and tablet are 5g on TMobile and have no issues streaming but that's at 5g.

We are exclusively WIFI (Visible phone) and couldn't be happier! Sometimes, over the air with the camper antenna when we want to see local news .... which actually, is never!

With a weather app on our phone, who needs live television anyway!
