Cable tether

Has anyone put any type of wire management or tether on their 7 pin connector/cable to keep it from just riding on top of the tongue/ball?

I have a RAM 2500 and where the plug is the cable just lays across the tongue and I dont want it just riding ther and have a potential to get pinched.

I use a small "bungee cord" to hold the umbilical to the hitch lock. I use a Bolt brand (keyed to the truck key" on the trailer ball latch. The small bungee cord secures it from sliding down to the ball/latch area.

When I was pulling a TT I used a long shank padlock to secure the couple latch in the closed position. I always passed the umbilical and the breakaway cable through the padlock. This kept them both up and out of harm's way.

I don't use a lock on my hitch latch (yeah, I know). Rather, I use a Clevis pin and run the cord thru the wire lock on the pin.

Zip tie with large loop around trailer wire then connected to padlock or clevis securing tongue lock. If you make the loop large enough you never have to cut the zip tie.
