You might to consider after staying in Door County near Sturgeon Bay, head north around Lake Michigan and stay near Mackinaw Island and then to Traverse City. (Sleeping Bear Dunes are awesome). Going home just head south around to Chicago and home. We have made this trip two times, the cherries grown there are amazing.
