25RDS Hot Water Bypass

Searched and couldn't find anything that looks like our configuration. We have a 2022 25RDS and I can't find the location of the hot water bypass (if we have one?). The picture below is the box next to the bed the water pump is but there's no bypass valve obvious.

Anyone with a 25RDS have a bypass valve installed somewhere?

You need to look at the back of the water heater, Its most likely there on the cold inlet.

See the red pex line in the lower right of your picture? Follow that to your water heater. You might have to remove a panel or something else to get to it. But, like Chuckster57 said, it should be on the cold water inlet.

Just picked up my 2022 25RDS today. Drivers side pass-thru door, there is a partition screwed to floor, remove it and behind it is the rear of water heater. (I crawled in from the other side to see it better). There is one valve there which I assume is by-pass. I flipped that valve, filled freshwater tank till it ran out the vent and no water came out the water heater (had plug out of water heater the whole time).

Turn on the pump!! Or connect to city water & turn it on!

Thank you all - particularly SadieMae, it was behind a panel only accessible through the storage bay. Would love to talk to the engineer that thought this was an acceptable solution. On the upside - reason #100 to lose weight- so I can crawl in the freaking storage box twice a year.

Ha ha great photo. So I imagine you have to unload the storage compartment, crawl on your elbows thru the compartment dragging with you the tools you need to remove the panel, activate the valve then back out on your elbows and repack the storage compartment. Probably was designed by a Marine. No big deal

25RDS water heater by-pass

Kaylodad, here’s my plan; buy from Amazon a rv storage door ($10 I think) cut a hole in that board and mount that $10 door/frame so I can reach in from outside and open that door and open/close the valve when necessary. No more unloading storage bay and crawling through to unmount that vertical board. In theory sounds good, ordered the door/frame and we’ll see.

On my 29BHS, I cut a hole in the access panel and installed a hatch.

I used a 6" version, but I don't know if they have one now.

I also used the marine style hatch on my 22 RBS.

25RDS Water heater fitting loose

Maiden voyage with 25RDS and things were going well until yesterday. Arrived Sunday and Tuesday was rain day so we ran into town to run errands and we got back to camper and fresh water tank was empty. We had left pump switch on (never usually turn off when using tank) and after investigating determined the cold fitting on hot water tank had come loose and the pump pumped about 40 gallons of water in the bay and I assume ran down under the basement floor inside the coroplast to the ground I have drained the best I could. Used fans to dry out everything as well as possible. Concerned about the possible water damage, hot water heater fitting as well as heating element (it was on when we left); anyone have any other thoughts? Called dealer and getting it in Monday so bypassed water heater filled tank back up and staying the remainder of the planned trip with no hot water but friends next spot over and can heat water for dishes etc.

Did you leave the water heater running on Gas, Electric or both?

I never leave the water pump on when I leave the trailer (even for short periods) just for this reason.

If you've reconnected the water lines to the water heater, you should be able to still use it. If it was heating on electric when it ran empty, the electric heating element may be burned out, but it should still heat using gas.
