Dr. Joel Ponton
My 1st cousin Sarah Reavis' husband. Sarah was the 1st of his 5 wives. Joel had 19 children. What a man!


Joel's brother was Andrew Ponton elected the Mexican Alcade (Mayor) of Gonzales. Andrew wrote the reply to the Mexican Army regarding their demand returning the cannon they were given. The issue evolved into the "Come and Take It" incident.
