Camping in the Boston, Ma.

WE will be touring New England in August and looking for a campground near Boston. Hoping to find one that tours to Boston.

Hey John,
we were there last June, stayed at the Minuteman campground. Full hook ups, lots of trees, easy in and out. Very close to train that drops you off at the TD Gardens in downtown Boston, very cheap for a weekend pass, think it was $10/ person. easy to follow schedule, relaxing 1/2 hr to 45min trip, and you don't have to worry about parking.
Relatively close to Salem, was a nice day trip.
Walked the freedom trail, it's free.

I would stay there again if I was going to the Boston area.
Good luck and have fun.

Normandy Farms is another one. It's a resort campground so a little bit on the pricey side but it is very nice.

I second this recommendation. Every review I've read on Normandy Farms is positive. And just far enough from Boston to not have to worry about the congestion. Our future northeast travels will have Normandy in the itinerary.

Me again,
No matter what campsite you end up at, taking the train into the city is quick and easy on weekends, with no special activities or holidays, and is $10 per person for two days.

If you travel with any sort of a firearm at all, I can greatly recommend Woodmore Family Campground in Rindge, NH. Spacious, shady pines, plenty of amenities, nice staff, and best of all, you don't become an instant felon merely by staying there overnight.

We'll be going thru Canada from Michigan so no firearms. Thank for all the information on the campgrounds and the trains.
