Car tire question

My wife's 2003 Crown Victoria (don't laugh... just turned 60K miles) has off brand Nankang Cross Sport SP-9 radial tires. I have never seen a passenger car tire with a 51 PSI max payload 1653 lbs rating. (Just noticed as she had a flat I just changed). These appear to be V rated tires as well. Got them at Walmart and I can't remember why... I have been putting in 34 PSI and they seem to be wearing evenly (date code 4718). NADA says the car weighs 3964 lbs. What should I air up these tire to? Probably will get a new set of tire this year but my wife is fully retired and doesn't do much driving at all so maybe next year.

Surprised none of the tire experts dove in and offered some suggestions or wisdom.

From what I locked at they appear to be tires targeted for the SUV market. That would explain the higher weight and air pressure ratings.

I would air them up to whatever the sticker inside the driver door jamb says.

Look at this link to see what might have been on this car for sizes. https://www.goodyear.com/en-US/tires...-victoria/2003

All standard load passenger tires normally have 44 PSI or 51 PSI limit for some special circumstances such as towing or high speed. The increase to those PSI settings does not provide any extra load capacity.

The proper inflation for your new tires is derived from the Original Equipment tires and what load capacity their recommended cold inflation pressure(s) provided.
