5th Wheel Front Window
Has anyone attempted to put a front window in their 5th wheel? We have a Keystone Cougar 26RLS and would like to add a window in the front and would like to hear any information that we can get.

With enough money anything is possible!
Typically locations for windows are framed out with studding to attach the window frame to prior to laminating the materials together. Adding the framing now would, in my opinion, be a lot of work & expense if even possible.
If you're talking "front" as in the nose, wouldn't that put a window in the closet?

OP by the time you went to the expense, trouble and probably ongoing problems with that window install, I'd buy a new trailer built for it.

The closet is a tiny one on the left side. The only thing directly in front is a blank wall.

I would think it would have to be a window designed for driving rain at 65 mph,
Maybe you could order a oem front window from lippert or whoever makes them for the current rv’s.
I would be afraid of a driving rain finding it’s way into the window seal and road debris cracking it if it isn’t front windshield approved

The shape of the tempered glass (it doesn't bend) and the contour of the front fiberglass cap would need to "match"... Trying to put a 3 degree radius window in a 5 degree radius wall isn't going to "end well"....
From what I've seen of the new fifth wheels and travel trailers with windows in the front cap, the caps are not "shaped like they were before the windows....
Funny to me, but every travel trailer and fifth wheel had a "big front window" that got covered with bugs and leaked with every rain (when towing) and always resulted in a wet bed.... After listening to customers complaining for years, the manufacturers finally stopped cutting holes in the front caps... As soon as the "new crop of RV buyers" came along, wanting what the "old farts hated", the manufacturers are, once again, installing "bug magnets that also give you a wet bed" (right after the warranty expires).....
Long story short: Be careful what you wish for.....

Well at least a window that high up would not be likely to be broken by a rock kicked up by a passing vehicle's tire. But drive at night from Oregon to Boise on I84. It might get broken by a owl strike.

I would think it possible if you want to spend the money. Plexiglass can be bent and you would have to carefully measure the radius and dimensions and then figure out how to frame it in. If you camper is under warranty I am positive if you do the window it will not longer be. Check these guys:

Can't imagine finding glass with a radius that would work but I guess anything is possible.

If the front cap is identical to one used with a window it would be easier. Custom car shops get windows made for custom cars (think chopped top) but it's VERY expensive.

I would think that you could put a flat window recessed with a hinged cover that would follow the contor of the cap that could also serve as a awning when not traveling. My trave trailer has one.

Install a camera outside facing forward and a flat panel TV inside. Connect the camera to the TV. Small holes and way cheaper than installing a window. Same results.
