New Carlisle Tires + thank goodness for TPMS

We were on a back road in rural NY state, 40 miles from our destination, when we developed a flat due to a sidewall penetration. Our TPMS alerted me to the problem so no damage occurred to the trailer from potential tire disassembly. The OEM tires were 2 year-old GoodRide brand and had about 10K miles on them. How the puncture occurred is beyond me, but whatever it was did not remain in the tire. (image below) Of course it was raining, occurred just at dusk and on a two-laned road – but it had a nice paved shoulder where we stopped. I was unable break the lug nuts free, even using my torque wrench. Fortunately, we have the GS roadside assistance for the trailer, but unfortunately it took them a little over four hours to get someone to us! The first place GS called decided to reject the call after they told GS they’d take it, and no one got back with us, so we were patiently Waiting for Godot. After the supposed arrival time came and went we called again and found out the news. When the second call-out showed up his battery-operated impact wrench loosened those lug nuts quickly. We finally arrived at our destination at 10 p.m. I found a local shop the following day to get new tires (Carlisle Radial Trail HD, at twice the price I paid 4+ years ago! The tires are made in China, so maybe tariffs as well as inflation? (no pun intended there)), but they couldn't do anything until the following afternoon. (Note: I also contacted the local CW, who was supposed to call me back but never did.) I had metal valve stems installed so now I don’t need to use my pool tube as a cushion to prevent deflection of the former rubber valve stem. I looked at the inside of the old tires and saw no issues like what JRTJH has shown photos of previously on the forum, but then again, I’m no expert and could have missed something. English was not the native tongue of the mechanic who changed the tires and he didn’t understand the question I asked him about the OEM tires.

Ask Santa for a 1/2" high torque impact for Christmas. Milwaukee or Dewalt.
Or a 1/2" breakover bar and a length of pipe.

I have this one and it's great. Take a look at the specs, it has 3 different settings. At it's highest level it'll twist lug bolts off. I was trying to get lug nuts off a car that had left hand threads on one side, 60's Buick that had sat for over 20 yrs, I didn't realize it on the first one and twisted it right off

I have trouble remembering what I had for dinner the night before sometimes hut IIRC the 1965 Plymouth Fury I drove in high school had RHT on the driver's side and LHT on the passenger side. I believe their idea was the lug nuts would not loosen by turning "backwards. I think it was a solution looking for a problem.
