Oak the 253 & 253H are the same thing with the exception of the 253H having a higher output. Either would work.

Just bought the Marshall Excelsior 253.
I am having a problem getting the hose off of the inlet of the old one to attache the new one.
Does anyone know if they are reverse threads and I am only tightening it more?

Regular threads. Use two wrenches. One to hold the regulator and the other on the pigtail. I have put the regulator in a vise when I’m not going to reuse it.

Replace the pigtails when you replace the regulator.

Just a personal observation but there is a lot of corrosion in that picture. You did say it was a 2020 trailer. Something doesn't seem right here. Did someone remove the 2020 setup and replace with older equipment?

From personal experience I once bought a 2012 trailer in 2014 (used) and the first time I needed to refill the propane tanks it was pointed out to me that the tanks were out of date and I needed recertification or new tanks. On a two year old trailer????? The dealer was great, they purchased two new tanks and had them filled for me.
