Mouse in the house

We had rodents get into our 5-er last fall when I had left the basement door open for a few days. Thought we had got rid of them, but come to find out we had a critter that got into the living space through the fresh air return because it is wooden and had bowed out from the wall allowing a 1 inch gap on the sides. Have spent the better part of 2 weeks setting traps - live traps, spring traps, sticky traps - the little devil was sly and never got caught. He would trip them, once got onto a sticky trap but drug it back to his hiding spot...which turns out to be a hole underneath the bed platform. He's also come out and tripped a spring trap injuring him - but he still got a way. Had to clean up some blood. Thinking the injury may have got the better of him as he came out the last night with some larger spring traps in his path with fresh peanut butter but didn't touch them, and very little "evidence" left behind. Traced him back to the hole and have blocked it with steel wool and wood blocking to keep him trapped. So now, assuming he has expired, I need to determine how to get his remains out of the space. I have attached some pictures showing the hole. I don't think removing the slideout is a reasonable option. Wondering if this space is limited to just the ledger or sill, or if he could have traveled anywhere under the platform? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Obviously better to get him out sooner rather than later when he starts to further decay. We just had a recent post on a decayed mouse found in a heating duct. Terrible scent in his case OP had easier access to area. Good Luck
