Fridge cover blown off

Hey all. My outdoor plastic refrigerator cover blew off my 5er somewhere in Colorado. Since I’m now in Nebraska and headed another 9 hours east in some rain today, is it safe to take it home without this cover? Finding the part in Sunday would be tough. Finding the part on Monday may be tough. The only other option I can think of is to empty the fridge contents to an ice chest and tape the opening shut for the drive. Other ideas are welcome. Thanks everyone.
Mike

Others more knowledgeable should be chiming in soon but if it were mine I'd close it off. Seems to me a large amount of water could do damage to the electrical wiring/components as well as the gas burner, solenoid, etc.

If your not stopping anywhere, then just leave the refer turned off. Cover the opening and drive. The contents should be ok. If you planning on staying another night somewhere I would empty into ice chests.

Made it home safely using Chuckster’s advice. Next question... When searching for a new cover will it be make and model specific? I’m hoping that since there are so few rv fridge manufacturers that the exterior cover will be the same for all like model refrigerators.

Thanks again, Mike

Your choices will be Dometic or Norcold. Color options will be white or black. Measure to be sure.
