Looking for Specific Floor Plan

I've combed every line, and every floor plan on the Keystone web site with no luck. Just thought it couldn't hurt to ask if anyone knows of a Keystone travel trailer that has the Passport 292BH SL floor plan WITHOUT the bunks.

Seems silly, I know. But we love everything about this floor plan and don't need the bunks.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has a suggestion.

You could always get one and remove the bunks and make the room into what you want. We have an outback 325 bh. I took out the couch and folding bunk in the bunk room slide and put in a mini twin bed for my young daughter. And made the upper bunk over outside kitchen into storage. For kids toys cloths and everything else we need. Campers are all about making them yours like your home.

We looked at floor plans for several years before we found one that was close to what we wanted. We settled on the Bullet 248 RKS based on the floor plan. Have you looked at the Passport 2900 RL?

You're basically asking for a front bedroom, rear living/bath unit in a smaller footprint unit. This should be easy to find among brands. Look at Bullets, Hideouts, and Cougars too. If you don't find a suitable floor plan with Keystone, try anyone of a the competitor brands.

Definitely find a unit that satisfies your required layout. Otherwise, you'll always be second guessing your purchase decision.

Good luck.

When we were shopping we picked our "must haves", our "would like to haves" and our "do not wants". We were able to eliminate a lot of trailers this way and narrowed our search to a few layouts (most mfgs have very similar floorplans). You may not get exactly what you would draw up yourself as the perfect trailer, but you can probably get pretty close.

Thank You!

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions. We currently have a Passport 199ML and would like just a little more space. We love that the shower isn’t in the corner and is slightly larger and the double sink in the kitchen. We had a unit before with a corner shower and didn’t care for that at all. There are some things that are changeable as some of you have suggested and those are all good ideas! A little more counterspace in the bathroom and kitchen would be great! We did add a flip-up on the end of our kitchen counter in the 199 and that helps. We’re trying to stay around 26-28’ as we don’t have a full-size truck to pull a larger unit. I will look over the replies and appreciate all the suggestions. Thank you again!

Not sure where Brighton is, but if you want a front bedroom with a lot of counter space, have you looked at Hideout 28RKS? I will be putting mine on the market shortly....

Trish,

I hate to ask but what kind of tow vehicle do you have (specs if you know them). The reason I ask is that a 26-28' travel trailer is a pretty big load for a full size truck much less something smaller. We just had a member trying to find a suitable trailer in the same size length if I recall that would fit the weight ratings of his truck and it was hard to do. I'm afraid you may be in the same or worse predicament. Finding the "perfect" floorplan would be ideal but finding one that fits within the limits of your tow vehicle may prove more difficult - and should be the first consideration.

Great question. Our plan is to purchase a new tow vehicle 1/2 to 3/4 ton and then upgrade the trailer. We'd still like to stay around 28' for storage reasons. Thanks for the heads-up and the suggestions.

I would suggest that a 1/2 ton is not going to cut it for trailers over 22-23 feet and that if you are getting a SD/HD truck, skip the 3/4 ton and go full ton. It will drive pretty much the same, cost pretty much the same, but have much more payload capacity. Then the discussion is simplified some, SRW or DRW

Good. My suggestion would be to pick the trailer so you can get all the specs then pick a truck that will handle it comfortably. More importantly, pick a truck that will handle any trailer you think you may get in the future. You will be much happier with the trailer you want vs a trailer you have to pick because it has to stay within the limits of a tow vehicle you already have.

Take a look at the Keystone Sprinter 26RB.(266RBS - older model number). I have one and tow with a half ton Silverado.

We purchased a Passport Elite 27RB which has a floor plan which looks similar to what you are looking for. We did not want the bunks as well. They do not make the Elite anymore, it is now a Premier. Try that line. It may work for you. It looks pretty much like what Dogue posted.

Cougar 27RES dubbed as the perfect couples trailer. First summer for ours (2018 model) and seems to work out good layout wise. Also Cougar has some good features.
Although at nearly 9000# loaded I highly recommend at least a 3/4 ton TV.

This past year we bought a keystone Cougar 24SABWE. We feel its the "Best Couples" TT. Last Sept. we towed it from AZ to Bar Harbor, Maine and back behind our Nissan Titan XD P/U. Our Titan is rated as being between a 1/2 and 3/4 ton P/U. You have a choice of Gas or 5.0 L Cummins V8 twin turbo Diesel. Ours is a Diesel 4x4 crew cab with 555 Ft/Lbs of torque. Rated to tow 12,000 lbs. It tows our TT like a dream and when empty it rides much better than a 3/4 ton.

We have a 29" Sprinter which has the same floor plan but instead of bunks there is a large bathroom and outside kitchen at the rear end.

Thanks again to everyone for all the great suggestions. We have narrowed our choice down to a couple floorplans and will make a decision soon. I appreciate the input.

I understand the pain. RVs have normally been to sleep as many as possible and they add bunk beds to help get more people into them. When we had a young family that was important, not anymore. The last 2 rvs we searched out ones that were great for just a couple. No bunk beds, more area used for other things.
