shutting off elec. when not in use

We're still learning our way around our 2021 Springdale mini and have a couple questions/concerns. Besides flipping the breakers, is there anything else we need to do to keep the battery from discharging when the camper is not in use?Secondly, the little CO/propane alarm keeps chirping when the battery has gotten low, other than trickle charging the battery, is there any way to stop it? The propane has been shut off and the lines purged. It only chirps when the battery has gotten low.

Install a battery disconnect switch or disconnect the negative battery terminal.

As posted, the only way to prevent battery discharge from the phantom drains (which are the stereo memory, CO alarm and LPG alarm, etc) is to disconnect the trailer battery or keep the trailer plugged into shore power or solar power. Keep in mind that if the battery is being maintained on a charger, you'll need to check the electrolyte level at least monthly, so many people just remove the battery, take it home and charge it there.

As for the LPG detector "chirping" that is a safety feature, designed into the detector to inform you that there's a problem with its ability to keep you safe. The low battery may not power the device properly and it may not be able to detect a gas leak. So, you don't want to put a bandaid on the problem, you want to fix the problem (low battery voltage) so your family remains safe....

Agree with others on disconnecting the battery when storing the trailer. When the CO/propane alarm chirps it is time to replace the battery https://sage-advices.com/how-do-i-st...-from-beeping/.

Just keep your trailer plugged in and let the on-board converter keep your battery charged. You can keep it plugged into a 15 amp (normal) house outlet, just use a dog bone adapter so you can plug your camper 30 or 50 amp plug into that. 15 amps will keep the converter running and will charge your battery just fine. But, as stated above, check the acid level in the battery often. The only way to shut everything off inside your camper from the battery is to disconnect the wires from the battery .... or install a cut-off switch (on the negative - ground wire), as there is usually only 1 wire going to ground, unlike the positive side that can multiple wires attached to the battery terminal.

I bought a different brand of one of these and installed it.

Battery disconnect switch

I have two 100 Amp LIFEpo4 batteries and they run dead even with everything turned off from the CO2 detector and other parasitic draws. This way everything is shut off.

No need to turn off all the breakers, they are 120 volt & won't help the battery drain issue.
Disconnect the negative cable or add one of the disconnect switches to the negative or positive battery cable.
If by chance you leave it plugged into shore power if you happen turn the converter breaker off your battery won't get charged.
