Smile Newbie from Hood River

Hello! I'm new to the site but an old hat when it comes to RVing. We started with a Coleman tent trailer and have upgraded several times over the past 20 years. Pretty amazing watching how sophisticated and technical RVs have become.

We've just purchased a 2022 Cougar 29RLWKE and a Ford F150 with the 3.5L Eco Boost. My wife and I love to travel and camp. We've managed to go out 5 times so far with 3 more trips planned before winter.

Happy I found this site because there are so many knowledgeable and helpful people here.

Welcome!

We have the same trailer and love the floorplan.

We no longer have the F150 to tow it with though

Just curious of the OP who notes he is a seasoned camper... the gross weight of the trailer is 9500 lbs and that means a tongue weight over over 1200 lbs. Add hitch and passenger and stuff in the truck that will mean a payload of over 1700 lbs (just guessing). What is the payload of your eco-boost? Yellow door placard in the driver door frame. Just curious as that is a lot of camper for a 1/2 ton.

Thanks for sharing your concern and sharing your unsolicited opinions. No worries, I did my homework, and my Cougar HALF-TON works very well. Your numbers for our RV are way off. After fully loaded it's 1,200 less than you think. I'm also well below my 1,886 lbs payload. I'm not a guesser and prefer facts. The facts that I am referring to are actual wt.'s taken on a scale with a full load as compared to my actual truck's capacities. Everything falls well within my Ford's capabilities. I do appreciate your condescending message though and mostly thank you for reminding me why I abhor social media of any kind.
