Hi there from Utah!!

Hello all!! Glad to be here!

Just purchased a new to us '19 Cougar 27SGS. We previously had a '11 Forest River Shamrock hybrid, which we really loved, but planning on doing more camping in MT so we thought it might be a good idea to get a fully hard sided rig to protect us from the bears

Glad to be a part of this community now. Learned a lot from the FROG and we can tell by looking through these forums we'll be getting lots of great advice from y'all.

Looking forward to our new adventure!!

from your neighbors to the south. We were also former FROGs and you'll find the folks here just as friendly and knowledgeable as our former group. We've only done limited camping in MT but getting a hardside is a good choice since we also have bears sighted in the Uinta campgrounds as well as places we often camp in SW Colorado and Wyoming.
Enjoy your new Cougar. Camp safe and camp often

Welcome to the forum! When going to Montana in your hard sided trailer be sure and try to minimize any smells that would attract bears/grizzlies. In a Class A one night many years ago in MT and kept hearing this big banging sound. A guy with us stepped out with a light to see what the heck. There was a grizzly about maybe 50-60yds away standing up and just waylaying the heck out of a huge steel dumpster; lean back and wham again. He had it rocking but he couldn't get in it. Now I'm not sure how the side of any RV would hold up to that but figure I don't want to find out - keep those groceries sealed!!
