JMW92A replacement

Anyone have insight on the removal of the Jensen JMW92A head unit? It looks like there is a cover on each side and bolts underneath.
My unit lost Bluetooth and dealer ordered new one but no way I’m taking trailer there for weeks to have them install.
Thanks in advance!

There are 2 squarehead #2 screws on each end once you pry the covers off.

Thank you Sir!

Also my Chevy was in regen in traffic and started melting the corner of trailer nose.
Thinking of replacing the plastic with some sheet metal, what say you?

Since your trailer is a 2021, that piece should be available. Start here:

Haven’t had that happen on my trailer, but have seen others that did. Found a muffler shop that would turn it out to the side instead of the 45 degree to the rear. Said it’d be $80. I just haven’t bothered to do it yet.

Wish I could delete my DPF...
Corner pieces ordered, researching turn out exhaust tips.
Thanks again!

On Ford 6.7L diesels the exhaust system "exhaust end cones" are specifically designed with scavenger air ports to help cool the exhaust system. There are comments in the owner's manual to make sure the ports remain open, clean and not blocked by mud, etc. I think I ran across a similar comment in a GM owner's manual a year ago or so. Check your owner's manual in the maintenance section to see if there's some restrictions on modifying the exhaust system. On Ford's, you can't add or change the end cones while the truck is still in warranty. To do so would "risk the emissions warranty" and the SCR "torpedo" runs around $5K to 6K to replace. Burn up one of them and you could buy a "lifetime supply of trailer plastic corner pieces" with the replacement of one SCR....

With regard to the radio, go to asaelectronics.com/support and you download the manual for just about anything they've made.

I thought I'd seen it in the GM/Chevrolet diesel supplement as well as in the Ford supplement...

It's on page 17 in the 2022 Chevrolet diesel supplement.

Diesel Particulate Filter
The exhaust system has a Diesel Particulate
Filter (DPF) to reduce vehicle emissions. On
some exhaust systems with a DPF, the
exhaust cooler mixes air with the exhaust to
lower the temperature before it leaves the
tailpipe.

The DPF, the tailpipe, and other exhaust
system components must not be altered.
Inspect regularly and clean any mud or dirt
from the exhaust cooler, especially where
the exhaust cooler connects to the tailpipe
and the openings where fresh air enters the
cooler.

Stereo head unit replaced. Easy peasy. Glad dealer ordered new one on my complaint of bt not working and let me swap out on my own.
Now on to the turn out exhaust tip. It’s been my experience that for GM to void warranty they have to prove part created problem. I can alway replace OEM if need be. One I’m looking at is vented also, just turned to a side exit. Not to pleased with having that much heat on nose of trailer.

My truck has two exhaust tips turned out side by side behind the curb side rear tire. The tip are larger dia than the pipe with scavenging slots as well. I don't know how effective that is at idle though. If it goes into regen and you're in stop and go traffic about all you can do is go into neutral or park if possible and raise the rpm.

Finding a tuner to eliminate the regen is near impossible as they have been banned for a long time. Some years ago the Feds went after the tuner manufacturers and fined them out of buissnes.

Thinking the turn out to side will help immensely. OEM tip to trailer is pretty tight, and a direct shot at corner molding.
Sadly the days of delete and tune are quickly going away.
